Are Engineering Colleges root cause of todays bangalore

IT city Bangalore cribs a under sudden anti IT wave . If IT companies crib about infrastructure , others are cribbing about state of kannada in Software Companies, Northies overtaking localities, Infosys not giving enough jobs .
But the ROOT CAUSE for the current state lies in Karnataka's policy in higher education , especially Engineering colleges..
First and formost . We have opened up 25 % to Non karnataka quota. in engineering Currently its more than that thanks to management quota politics .
In non karnataka quota we dont find people from TN, Andhra, Maharashtra coming of late, as those states have quality Engineering colleges .
So "NORTHIES" , the term used for outsiders from Bihar / Jharkhand /UP, Bengal, Haryana come here. In a class they make up to 25%. Atleast 25 % of the rest will be from karanataka who are either from rural background or from kannada medium. Rest 50% from merit/ different categories from our state only. With in that our CET rules allows a few outsiders too to apply... A person from mumbai with mother toungue as TULU can still take a seat here under merit quota.
These outsides have a lot of independence in movement and also in financial spending . This makes them to explore new things.
Bangaloreans changing to pro-English attitude starts from here . First he starts speaking in English as a communication problem and then to HINDI. Here is where the people from rural background get left out . These northies who feel bored invite us to go for a movie and we end up going to a DABBA English / Hindi movie,
As i told you the independence for outsiders is very high . Whenever there are any college fest/ dance competations , Northies dominate . On the other hand some constraints affect local-ites . Constraint like house being far from college etc...
Another sad thing happening, which i camre to know : is BRIBING of engineering faculty members. The faculty members of high profile engineering colleges have a really bad 4 digit salary. For them resorting to such things has only become a necessity.
< not all though > . This results in NORTHIES getting good marks in internals / Practical exams .
Worst in the negative effect on us .
A friend of mine had an engineering lab exam, in his session there were 10 people and 7 were northies. Irrespective of performance all Northies got 85 + whereas my friend got 63 , and reason ... lecturer wanted one BAKRA to show that colllge has mix of people he cannot give above 80 for all !!! ..
Now, by the end of engineering allmost all of these northies will be eligible for Campus interview < companies ask for 70% + to write the test > where as our kannadigas especially from rural background some how fail !!!
INFOSYS says it is going to 64 engineering colleges in Karanataka . TRUE and accepted .
But atleast 50% of people writing campus tests are NORTHIES here !!!!!!!!!!!! . HERE LIES THE CATCH ....... .
Further ahead the HR's and recruiters who mostly will be outsiders do recruit their people and at the end of the day 80% of all NORTHIES will be placed . whereas not even 50% of localites will be placed. Yah here the cream layer of good local people will get selected.
Added to that companies going to other states .... I am sure you dont find a karnataka engineering student in TN, AP or anywhere else
So issue should be not how many engineering colleges in karnataka the infosys is going . How many localites are they recruiting from these colleges ??????
As KRV protests infront of infosys. Definitely corporate world will try to defend reservations. KRV should have rather exposed this bias instead of asking for reservations !!
We shud expose that kannadigas are not getting jobs despite merit .???
Surprising to see that people of UDUPI rule hotel market in mumbai, but dont get a place in the office cafeterias.
Our South Kanara based nationalised banks Dominate Nationalised banking sector , we dont find their extension counters/ ATM's in our campus
We should now start targeting Engineering colllege the place where the seeds are sown. Good start is kannada has been introduced now for 1 sem students.
Well i thank you for reading this blog. Note this is only a blog based on my feelings. healthy critisisms and suggestions are equally welcome.

I am sorry for not writing in kannada: You have made a very good analysis. I have somemore points to ponder. Check this out
By learning/speaking in Hindi we are not getting benefitted in any way. In Job English is enough. Only benefit we have got is that we are able to understand when Hindiwallas rudicule our language, Culture, etc.
By Learning and speaking in Hindi, we are increasing market for them in everything from TV Channels, Films, Music albums. We maybe doing this from Patriotism point of view, but they always think "We ourselves dont like Kannada, and feel free to talk against kannada in front of us". No wonder Hindi entertainment field is growing as they have huge market and at what cost ?? at the cost of Kannada market. In recent years no good Books, Music or Films are forthcoming in Kannada because not many creative people are in that field. Creative people are going into other fields as there is no money in whatever that is kannada. There is no Money because our kannada market is very small. In This Capitalist Economy Market decides everything. If we do not consolidate our market atleast now, kannada will be washed away.
Few Things which I feel is good:
- Let us not speak Hindi anywhere in Bangalore or Karnataka. Let us stick to Kannada and limit English only to office as much as possible.
- Let us subcribe to atleast 1 kannada Newspaper
- Let us BAN "Times of India" all over karnataka. That is no-1 anti Kannada paper. This way let the message go to all anti-kannada businesses. Deccan Herald is the good choice as it is Karnataka Newspaper.
ಇಷ್ಟು ಹಗೆ ಏಕೆ?
ಹಗೆ ಇಂದ ಎನನ್ನೂ ಸಾಧಿಸುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಆಗುವುದಿಲ್ಲ. ಕನ್ನಡವನ್ನು ಉತ್ತರ ಭಾರತದವರಂದಾಗಲಿ ತಮಿಳರಿಂದಾಗಲಿ ರಕ್ಷಿಸುವ ಅಗತ್ಯವೆ ಇಲ್ಲ. ಕನ್ನಡವನ್ನು ರಕ್ಷಿಸುವ ಅಗತ್ಯ ಇರುವದು ಕನ್ನಡವನ್ನು ಮರೆತ ಕನ್ನಡಿಗರಿಂದ, ಕನ್ನಡ ತಿಳಿದಿದ್ದರೂ ಇಂಗ್ಲಿಷಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಬರೆಯುವವರಿಂದ.
