Thats what Ravi Belagere told. It is true. In Raj's films lot of tripadi , vachana, poetry , kanda padya were there with perfect pronounciation.
Recently I was listening a daasakruti sung by Dr Raj. ' toogire raayara, toogire gurugala' . there I stumbled on the word 'maaLpa' meaning the doer, kartru , maaDuvavanu.
Some times we think ,there are no words in Kannada for some words... because our knowledge is limited .

ಏಕೆ ಈ ಸಂಶಯವೆಂದರೆ ಸಂಗಾತಿಯನ್ನು spouse ಎನ್ನುವ ರೀತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ತಾನೇ ನಾವು ಬಳಸುವುದು. ಮಾಳ್ಪ ಎಂಬುದು ಕ್ರಿಯಾಪದ, ನಾಮಪದ ಎರಡನ್ನೂ ಸೂಚಿಸುತ್ತದೆಯೆ ಎಂಬುದರು ಕುರಿತು ಉನ್ನಿಸಬೇಕು(= ಆಲೋಚಿಸಬೇಕು).

I dont know the grammatical word for such word . But I think it means "maDuva" , in the context of the piece quoted by you .
