I am not sure whether this is the right place to ask this question, but I could not find any other pages in this website where user can write about his/her questions/help-required. As this is related to Kannada Unicode font, I just decided to write here.

I have been trying to see proper kannada fonts in my browser on Win-2000 OS.

But I am not seeing any relevent help on Win-2000. I see some help on how to key-in in kannada fonts for Win-2000. But I donot see any help on how to see kannada contents displayed in the browser. The software present in alphalinks also talks only about keying in in Kannada (i.e, regional languages).

I have downloaded ubuntu (633 MB).

File name: ubuntu-5.10-preview-install-i386[1].iso

Now my Win-2000 is asking "Click the program you want to use to open this file". Which program should I select?

I searched for Ubuntu couldn't get answer for this. However I found the information that, we need to burn this iso file into a CD. is it really required? I donot have CD writer

I still believe there are lot of Win-2000 users in kannada internet community. For the help of all of them, please provide more support information on Win-2000 support to Unicode kannada in this website.
