but this kind of `I want everything no matter how IRRELEVENT it is to website/mailing list where I'm posting it` attitude is terrible and infuriating.

For a minute lets assume that this site is a place where you can ask these questions.
But, you must ask these questions to yourself before posting the question.

1. did i see the product documentation? as far i know, mysql comes with good documentation
2. did I search for the solution on the internet?

If you still can not ask the question with atleast these details
*. what operating system you are using?
*. what version of the software you are using.
*. what was the problem.

I see that you have done NONE of the above. So, your question does not warrant a response.
