Pardon my writing in English. I am yet to install the Kannada fonts in my laptop.

The respected Prof. JR Lakshmana Rao has condemned SLB's highlighting of muslim atrocities and violent nature because such writing may lead to communal clashes.

Weren't there communal clashes before SLB wrote Aavarana? Would his not writing lessen the chances of future communal clashes?

Prof. Rao must read Yashavantha Chittala's novel, Purushotthama to understand the origins of communal clashes.

Today when the whole world is being threatened by the terrorists, we need to examine what motivates the terrorist and try to nullify the power of that fount.

SLB has revealed to us that this violence was there centuries ago and is continuing.

"You have to show violence the way it is. If you don't show it realistically, then that's immoral and harmful. If you don't upset people, then that's obscenity." _Roman Polinski.

If we accept Polanski's words, then SLB was right in portraying what he did.

Fortunately the terrorists caught recently in Mysore were not successful. Had they detonated something near the good Professor's house (God forbid !) may be, he would have a different view.
